Jack Tatum is recognized as a player who is usually tied to one since of the tragic moments at his game. The tragic moment happened when a preseason of New England Patriots game. In this game, the role of Jack Tatum is really important for the club because he can be considered as a great player to know.
Jack Tatum passed away at 61 years old at Tuesday and he died at Oakland hospital. Based on medical report, his death is caused by a massive heart attack and this statement is supported by his friend and former Ohio State teammate John Hicks. Besides, he also fights diabetes and any kinds of health problems for some years. So, it can be concluded that Jack Tatum had many kinds of diseases in his body. But, the tragic moment came when the collision happened with Stingley at August 12, 1978. And this incident happened at Oakland Coliseum.
Stingley cut inside when he lunged for a pass that will fall incomplete. At the opposite direction, Stingley met him when the receiver was off balance and leaning forward. In this incident, Stingley did crumple to the ground with his fourth and fifth vertebrae severed. This condition causes the worst Stingley and also Tatum’s condition.
For some years, Stingle has a limitation to use his body and he spends his life in an electric wheelchair. Finally, he also died in 2007. After the incident, Tatum never state about the apology or consolation and the two players who are Tatum’s friends never say about this thing.
After the condition, Tatum’s friend, Hicks that Tatum is not the same person anymore after the incident. In this case, Tatum is being the different person since he is almost a recluse”.
Besides, Hick tells that Tatum ever visited Stingley but he is refused by his family at an Oakland hospital. This condition caused Tatem have a guilty feeling that makes him hard to arise. In fact, Tatum is a good person and he never has a feeling to hurt anybody so it can be concluded that the accident happens suddenly.
