Mark David Chapman is recognized as the killer of John Lennon. Lennon himself is known as the legendary songwriter and singer. Chapman asks about parole a month before the death of Lennon comes to the 30 years anniversary. To remind you about the incident, Chapman murdered Lennon in 1980. And then, Chapman is sentenced for 20 years in prison. In this case, Chapman also asks parole for sixth time. The parole he asks is expected to make him free so he is able to spend the rest of his life with his family.
On August 9th, Chapman will be interviewed by the members of parole board to know whether he deserves to get the parole or not. Based on CNN, there are some letters that support to release Chapman. As said before, he asks the parole sixth time and most of them is refused by the institution of parole. When in the prison, Chapman spends his time for working as housekeeping or in the library. He becomes as a good person who will make his condition better.
Based on reported quotes by CNN, he is allowed to get conjugal visit with Gloria, his wife after 20 years he was in jail. In fact, the visit is a part of family reunion program that make Chapman able to spend his time for 44 hours with his family. In this meeting, there is also a special setting to prevent the bad thing that can happen. Also, there are some criteria that will allow joining with this program so not all family has a chance to meet with Chapman. This condition happens to make some prevention to Chapman and his family in making something bad.
As a wife of John Lennon, Yoko Ono does not feel happy if Chapman is released. He writes a letter to ask Chapman can be in jail for some years later because she still feels the sadness after some years of his death. One of Cleveland resident makes a statement that Chapman does not deserve for getting the parole because he did something bad that separates him from his wife, son and also his huge fans.
